Zhang, Yanli: Stopping Family Planning will Help to Improve Chinese Women’s Human Rights
张艳莉(Zhang,Yanli)
The main goal of China’s family planning is to implement the one-child policy. During the process of implementing other related ordinances, anyone woman qualified with child-bearing condition has to obey this one-child policy. The family planning policy has been implemented for over 30 years, hundreds millions women in Childbearing age have experienced family planning enforcement, such as forced abortion and forced labor induction.
The family planning policy in China completely violates the concept of respecting human rights advocated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights issued by the United Nations. This deprives Chinese women’s reproductive freedoms, seriously violates women’s basic human rights. Moreover, the family planning policy also breaks up the basic human nature rule, stifles women’s wish of normal fertility, destroy the age structure of Chinese population and the balance of gender structure.
Chinese people cannot bear the persecution of family planning policy any more. They requires the government stop implementing the family planning policy, ask the government to guarantee women’s basic rights, and strongly demand the government to improve women’s basic human rights in China.
