Chen, Longqing: Hope the Chinese Government can Take Responsibility of Environmental Protection

In order to develop economy, the Chinese government has made very loose incentive policies, making the economy growth rate over 10 percent for many years. These years, the country’s overall economy has developed, but the environmental problem is getting worse; the atmosphere has been polluted, the water recourse has been polluted, the soil has been polluted, and the ecological environment has been destroyed.
In order to get a better performance, the government officials try to pursue economic high efficiency, and loosen the environmental protection for a long-term. They allow many industrial enterprises discharge waste gas, waste water, and solid waste into the nature environment directly, leading to a vicious cycle of environmental pollution. Now, the environmental pollution problem becomes more and more serious. In a few decades, China has become the world’s most polluted area.
As to the environmental pollution problem in China, the international environmental protection organizations and groups have made their suggestions many times, calling the Chinese government pay attention to the environmental protection work while develop the economy. Gradually increase the investment for environmental protection, increase the enforcement of policy; set restriction on discharge measurement towards the industries causing serious pollution, strictly control the quantity of pollutant discharged like waste gas, waste water and waste residue, enforce the legislation work for environmental protection. We hope China can be a country that can take responsibility on the environmental protection.
