Zhu, Xueqin: Calling China to Abolish the “One Child” Family Planning Policy
朱雪琴(Zhu,Xueqin)
The Chinese people fabricate a jingle to iron the government’s family planning policy. They say, “The government want to govern the sky, govern the earth, what is more, they also want to govern women of their right to have babies.” This jingle fabricated by Chinese people is a true portrayal of the Chinese government’s “one child” policy. 30 years ago, in order to develop economy and reduce the national consumption rate, the Chinese government made this “one child” family planning policy. The main purpose of implementing it is to reduce the number of birth, artificially control the rapid growth of population.
The guiding objective of implementing the Chinese government’s “one child” policy is that one couple is allowed to have one child. Some regulations particularly emphasis that women of childbearing age are not allowed to have children if they do not reach the age by law. The precondition is that women have to be verified and approved by government’s family planning department before they try to have babies. Otherwise, pregnancy is illegal, and will be forced to get abortion or induced labor.
The “one child’ family planning policy serious violates women’s basic rights. Chinese women’s body has long been destructed and persecuted. We call the Chinese government to abolish the “one child” family planning policy.
