Zhou, Changxiu: The Chinese Government Has to Strength Food Safety Management
周昌秀(Zhou,Changxiu)
In the summer of 2008, a tainted milk scandal in China shocked the whole world. Thousands of infants died from this, and thousands and thousands of infant got nephrolith and other diseases. In just few years after the milk scandal, there have been several food safety incidents causing death.
Only looking from the process of these food safety incidents, these incidents are not related to each other, they are separated ordinary incidents. However, these food safety incidents have a common defectiveness in the management system; this defectiveness is Chinese Communist Party’s one-party authoritarian regime. The Chinese society which is long-term ruled by Chinese Communist Party, people has no freedom of speech, no freedom of press, and do not have the right to know. Government officials and unscrupulous businessmen work together, pervert justice for a bride, and help each other to get benefit; even after death event, they will try their best to block the news, stooping people to know the truth.
In order to protect Chinese people’s lives and property, guarantee Chinese people can eat safe food; Chinese government has to reform the system, achieving democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law.
