Wen, Jiucheng: China Needs to Improve Its Human Rights
温久成(Wen,Jiucheng)
The Chinese Communist government has long advocated the concept of “people-oriented”, promoting to respect and protect human rights; everybody is equal in front of the law, and has to use rule of law to govern the country. There are also provisions in China’s Constitution. For examples, people are the masters, and sovereignty is in people’s hand; and there are also provisions guaranteeing people’s human rights, freedom, rule of law and other principles. Over sixty years has passed, the government officials are still very corrupted; officials and businessmen work together to benefit both; money politics is very rampant; there is no freedom of speech, no morality; human rights are not improved at all, people have no basic human rights.
Using country’s name, the Chinese Communist regime persecutes people and oppresses people. There are lack of fairness and justice in employment, education, medical care and other aspects for people; ordinary people have to take the suffering they do not deserve, and also bear the additional living cost. The fact has approved that China’s Constitution cannot protect people’s rights, it just has decoration value.
Though the economic reform and opening up promotes China’s development, the social system has serious flaws. The basic human rights people need cannot be guaranteed; we hope the Chinese government can improve human rights while developing economy. The current Chinese government should have a political reform, achieve democratic election. Only an elected government can make China move toward the road of freedom, democracy and rule of law; only an elected government can truly improve human rights in China.
