Liu, Zhemu: Only a Democratic Constitutionalism Can Lead China towards Morality Civilization

Over the years, the Chinese society is lack of fairness and justice, and it is full of immorality and corruption. It begins with official corruption, and then followed by other events, like toxic milk powder, swill-cooked dirty oil, quack medicine, fake wine, fake diploma and so on. Many Chinese people’s value have changed, they only recognize money and interest. Looking at these government officials, they look sanctimonious, but actually they are unscrupulous. They each try to cheat the other in officialdom; facing people’s suffering, they are apathetic; in the working set, they try their best to gain interests.
Walking into the Chinese society, you will find that almost everyone has grievances, complaining about the social climate which is getting worse and worse. It is said that government officials has power, businessmen has wealth, professors are very knowledgeable, and celebrities are very famous. But all of them have a common feature that is they are lack of moral conscience.
Today’s China is lack of moral conscience; the fundamental reason is that this society is lack of a democratic constitutional system dominated by freedom, human rights and rule of law. Only under a democratic system, can a sustained and stable society with justice, democracy, freedom, equality and rule of law be created, can China move toward a civilization society.
