Zhang, Fenglei: Chinese Government Has to Pay Attention to Food Safety Management

China’s food safety issues have been long concerned by Chinese people. Some food operators are lack of conscience, and break laws all the time; some government’s food supervision and management departments are ineffective, and can hardly absolve themselves from blame of the food issues. The Chinese government has compelling obligation on food safety issues.
Chinese people are very simple. When people died of food insecurity one after another, when many infants were hurt by the toxic milk powder, many Chinese people still believe government, believe that government can solve problem on time. But, over the years, toxic milk powder, carcinogenic rice, fake alcohol, vegetables and fruits with excessive pesticide residues are all over the food market. Food safety incidents are still endless.
China’s food security has once again sounded the alarm; the relevant departments should pay more attention on food safety issues. Strengthen the food safety management, and improve the capacity of food hygiene supervision and inspection, find the problems in time, and take preventive measures, all these are important tasks in front of the Chinese government.
