Wang, Yueze: Renouncing Violence is the Beginning of Improving Human Rights
王跃泽(Wang,Yueze)
The main feature of an authoritarian government’s management is using violence; and the government officials from it have a common feature, that is greedy and violent. To government officials under an authoritarian government, law just likes a game, even the country’s constitution is just words. Therefore, it is very common that the authoritarian government and its officials use violence. People under violence can never achieve basic human rights.
China is an authoritarian country. Over the sixty years, the human rights situation in China has not been improved fundamentally. Until now, it still ranks the last among the whole world. Though the Chinese government is promising to change human rights situation every year, the Chinese communist government never give up violence. When face public petition, they use violence to suppress; face people’s right protection, they use violence to suppress. The most typical one is to use army to suppress 1989 Tiananmen Square democratic movement.
Renouncing violence is the beginning of improving human rights. We call the Chinese government to renounce violence, give up its dictatorship, start a democratic political reform, and actively carry out human rights dialogue with the public, taking a substantial step in improving the human rights issue.
