Li, Xueliang: China Needs Democracy and Freedom

Autocracy is the biggest obstacle to achieve democracy and freedom in China, and it only gives people suffering. Over the 60 years, the authoritarian regime which is under Chinese Communist Party’s dictatorship implements slavery on Chinese people, and tramples Chinese people’s human rights. Chinese people do not have freedom of speeches, do not have freedom of religion, and are lack of stable living condition. Government officials are corrupted, they persecute and exploit people.
The ordinary people live in the bottom of Chinese society, their working condition is very poor, their income is so low and they live in poverty. Facing the persecution from government or government officials, they cannot resist, the only thing they can do is remain silence. Today’s China, all the cities, no matter big or small, have high buildings and are extremely beautiful on the surface. Actually, the contradiction between the government and the people are very obvious, people do not live in a good life. What people need is democracy and freedom, fairness, justice and humanity.
Today, Chinese people know democracy and freedom. Though Chinese Communist government tries every way to disrupt democracy and freedom, Chinese people’s goal of abandoning autocracy and seeking for democracy would never be given up. A society with democracy, freedom, human rights, and rule of law will be achieved in China.
