Sun, Yongwei: The Only Way Out for China is to Achieve a Democratically Elected Government

Economic reform makes the Chinese society move towards a market economy, accelerate the development of China’s national economy, and also make the Chinese economy gradually integrate into the global economy system. People can easily tell that though the economy in China has developed, the political reform does not progress. Government and government officials’ power under Chinese Communist Party’s dictatorship cannot be supervised, corruption problem becomes more and more serious, and the gap between the rich and the poor are enlarging. The Chinese society is still lacks of fairness and justice.
One of the main goals that Chinese government implements economic reform is to let some people get rich first, and then achieve common wealth. From then on, people’s moral value has changed a lot, and everything is about money. Suddenly, the whole atmosphere of the society is corrupt and immoral, government officials and businessmen are in league with each other, and policemen and gangsters become a family.
In order to change China’s current social problem, it is important to restrain government and government officials’ power. And the only way to do it is to allow the existence of other ruling parties, implement a multi-party ruling system, letting people have their power, achieving a democratically elected government. Then, China’s social problem can be solved from root.
