Zhou, Fen: Corruption Cannot be Solved Under Dictatorial System
周芬(Zhou,Fen)
The reason why there are so many officials involve in corruption is that they have absolute power, having power means having everything, thus this absolute power can escape the supervision and restriction from the law in the autocracy society. Once the absolute power exists, corruption is inevitable. China Communist Party officials possess absolute powers, so they can do anything they want to, such as power-for-money deal and embezzlement; in the need of their political and economical demand, they take advantages of each other and act in collusion with each other.
Nowadays, China is called a socialist country with Chinese characteristic, which has regulations and laws as well as judicial system. Besides, China Communist Party has disciplinary committee and other anti-corruption executive departments. However, China is not a country under the rule of law, and its anti-corruption activity cannot fundamentally solve the problem of corruption. In today’s society of China, all these social problems such as moral bankruptcy, lacking of belief, no integrity, and corruption are caused by institutional problems.
A reasonable social system is the key of solving the problem of corruption. The reason why all the past dynasties cannot effectively solve this problem is because of dictatorship. Today, China Communist Party exercise dictatorship in China, how could it solve the problem of corruption?
