Xiang, Bin: Never Let “June 4 Incident” Massacre Happening Again

Twenty-three years ago, in the morning of June 4, 1989, well-armed army entered into Tiananmen Square, they used tanks and machine guns to slaughter the students and the people who participated in the parade and rally that advocating China Communist Party punishing corrupt officials and practicing democratic political reform. That was how the famous “1989 democracy movement” being bloody crackdown.
In the spring of 1989, hundreds of thousands of students and ordinary people spontaneously took to the streets to express their anger towards the corruption of the government, the dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party, and the poverty of the people. In Beijing, thousands of students and people gathered in the Tiananmen Square and asked to negotiate with the government in demand of practicing democracy and realizing freedom. However, in the morning of June 4, only the tanks and the bullets were coming to them. Countless young students and citizens died, and the scene is horrifying.
From then on, “1989 democracy movement” and “June 4 incident” became to be taboo subjects in China. Twenty-three years later, Chinese people can still feel the pain in heart. “June 4 Incident” is an undeniable fact. It is Chinese government’s responsibility to let the people knowing the truth of “June 4 Incident”. The Chinese government should stop using force, stop persecution, and practicing democracy.
