Li, Xiaoling: Environment Protection is Chinese Government’s Responsibility

The planet we are living is suffering the damage of environment pollution----the reduction of forest and wetland area, the severe desertification, the pollution of lakes and rivers, and the fact that half population in the world have insufficient domestic water. With the rapid development of industry and agriculture under China’s economic reform, environmental protection has been ignored. Because of the destruction of the ecological balance, vegetation gradually disappears from the land, which causes the water and soil erosion, birds and other animals on the land lose their homes. However, Chinese government officials still do not recognize the threaten of environment pollution
The earth needs green, human needs green, green relates to every respect to our human’s basic necessities of life. We want a land covered by trees and grass, we want a blue sky.
I appeal to Chinese government paying more attention to environment protection, enhancing relevant legislation and enforcement work, in order to create a friendly environment, making the sky bluer, making the water more clear, and making our planet more vibrant.
