The essence of the corruption problem is the corruption of system. The Chinese communist party has governed China more than 60 years, and the biggest drawback of the one-party ruling is that the government as well as the officials lack of effective supervision. Powers without supervision could absolutely outmatch the law, that is absolute power, and absolute power would definitely leads to corruption, which is widely recognized by the law.
Chinese government officials at all levels possess all public powers, and in the temptation of interests, many officials take advantage of the powers to engage in illegal trades, by which the officials’ power exchange businessmen’s money, then comes to corruption. In the view of those corrupt officials, law would not punish the mass. Since the officials have common interests, they gather and become to be an alignment of interest, in which they protect and benefit each other. Some of them even claim that collective corruption is for the employee’s welfare, in order to escape culpability.
For many years, Chinese people have got used to official’s corruption, some people do not blame those corrupt officials, and on the contrary, they see it as a normal thing, there are even some people who admire the corrupt officials’ “ability to cumulate wealth”, which is really a sorrow of the Chinese society. Consequently, the key to solve the problem of corruption is having a democratic system that could practice effective supervision over powers.
