Li, Yinhua: We Urge the Chinese Government Improving Human Rights Situation of Koreans in China
李银花(Li,Yinhua)
The Koreans live in the northeast of China belongs to be a minority classified by the Chinese government, whose ancestors came from today’s Korea and North Korea. This nation has few population, while has its own culture, writing and speaking language. But the Chinese government consistently discriminates Korean people, and the government and officials always bully us.
I am a Korean and come from the northeast of China, so I have personal experience of Chinese government’s persecution towards Korean people. Korean people’s education, employment, medical care, and endowment conditions are inferior to people of other nations, and they suffer discrimination here and there. The government also constrains the using of Korean culture and language, and restricts the movement of Korean population; the government has minority policy that benefits minorities, while the reality is inconsistent with the policy, which has strict regulation toward our Korean people.
Today, we Korean in China need fairness and justice, we need to fight for basic human rights, we ask the Chinese government treating Korean people nicely, and improve human rights situation of Koreans as well as respecting Korean’s culture and custom.
