Xu, Daguang: Remember the Departed in the “June 4” Incident in 1989

In the late spring of 1989, a two-month long rally and protest happened in Beijing China, in which the main participants are students and unbar residents, who launched a massive peaceful processions and assemblies that urging the Chinese government to fight against corruption and exercise democratic reform. People’s rationality and restrain presented from the campaign was unique from ancient times.
However, in the name of maintain social stability, the Chinese government ordered army equipped with tanks and machine guns entering into Beijing Tiananmen Square, many people chose to use their body to block the advancing tanks, and a lot of people died in front of the tanks and guns. That was the world famous “June 4” incident.
Till today, we still don’t know the exact names of some departed in the incident. Because of those people’s right, great and heroic resistance, Chinese people’s dignity was defended. Although the “June 4” incident has passed 23 years, there are still many articles and photo reports in memory of the incident published on the Internet as well as other media. It shows that people have never forgot the incident, and the “June 4” incident has become to be a mile stone of Chinese people’s pursuit of democracy and freedom.
