Jiang, Yuchen: Problem of Corruption will Decrease if China Realizing Democracy
姜宇晨(Jiang,Yuchen)
The fundamental source of the severe corruption problem in China is the social system that is one-party autocracy, under which the power of government official’s can evade the restriction of law, as well as people’s supervision. Therefore, if the Chinese government’s anti-corruption work want to success, all the powers must be under restriction and supervision, of course, of which the precondition is to exercise democratic political reform.
In the current Chinese society, although the government advocates that powers should under supervision, which includes people’s supervision and inner-party supervision, as well as news supervision. However, all these are exist in name only. Ordinary Chinese people are impossible to supervise the government, since the patriarchal system exercised by the China Communist Party, which do not allow people to supervise. There is no freedom in China’s news, so such kind of supervision is useless.
Only by pursuing their own rights and asking for practicing democratic freedom system could Chinese people implement effective supervision to powers. Once the powers get effective supervision, the problem of corruption would naturally reduce, and China’s anti-corruption work may success. For this reason, the key to anti-corruption is democratic system.
