Kong, Qinghai: Enhancing Environment Protection is Chinese Government’s Responsibility

With the rapid development of Chinese economy, environment pollution in China is getting more and more serious. Although people’s living standard gets improved by the economic development, the environment problem is outstanding, and after decades of economic reform, many “Garbage Cities” emerge in China. Some environmental damaging phenomenon that, untreated industrial waste gas and waste water being directly discharged, and household garbage being dumped everywhere, incur people’s concern.
While the Chinese government advocating economic development, it ignores the protection to environment. Human have only one earth, in which we live in the same environment every day, and everything we do relates to the environment. Facts show that the earth we are living, human’s home, is suffering massive damages: freshwater fish is in danger of extinction, coral reef is deteriorating, the land is under desertization, rivers and lakes are being polluted, and half of the population around the world lack of water.
Nowadays, automobiles run on the street like flow of river, which discharge waste gas to the blue sky; plant’s chimneys discharge dense smoke; if this trend continues, the sky will never blue, and the green will gradually deteriorate. As the Chinese government, enhancing the legislation and execution of environment law brooks no delay.
