Xu, Xiaokang: On human rights, Chinese Government’s Acts belie its Words
徐小康(Xu,Xiaokang)
Since the 1989 “June 4” student movement, human rights problem in China consistently received concern from International community. On the one hand, Chinese regime states: Chinese government respects and protects human rights, and the current situation of human rights is in the best level in history; on the other hand, it keeps suppressing pro-democracy activists, dissidents, human rights lawyers, and petitioners. Once it discovers someone who threatens the interests of the central government, the one would get arrested, under custody, and receives penal punishment in the name of “subverting state power”, which is totally a trampling over the basic human rights of Chinese people.
It can be seen from the above that how ridiculous the respect and protection towards human rights in the mouth of the communist government are. The government is a group that its acts belie its words, taking laws as trifling matter, to protect its own interests. The human rights situation in current China, however, is judged by this hypocritical interest group, thus without justice and fairness, isn’t it a very ridiculous thing?
From the perspective of the history of China and even the world, there is no one autocratic regime respects and protects human rights, so that is why China must realize democratic freedom, only when people are the authentic master of the country, will their human rights get respected and protected, and only a democratic China will let people enjoy human rights.
