Internet media always report the endless food safety incidents, which also point out that in order to seek exorbitant, some famous food enterprises in China add toxic materials into the food. For example, adding artificial proteins into milk could improve its “protein content”, which could only cheat the testing equipment without truly improve the protein content.
Media used to report that in 2008, a large state-owned dairy products manufacturing enterprise in Hebei China added melamine, a chemical addition agent, into the milk power it produced to increase the testing data of protein content. The toxic milk power caused thousands of infants suffering kidney stone, dozens of which died due to the disease.
The toxic milk powder incident was only one of the various food safety incidents in China. The victims of the toxic milk powder incident were all infants, so no matter how the government explained or took so-called “effective methods” to handle the incident people’s rage could not be eased. China’s food safety worried everyone, thus we urge the Chinese government to pay attention to the problem as soon as possible.
