Zhou, Yun: Emphasizing Environmental Protection is Chinese Government’s Responsibility

The earth is the homeland we human live by, while with the economic development and the people’s living standard growth, people are unknowingly destroying the environment, which makes the environment deteriorating. In China, the government spares no effect to develop economy while neglecting environmental protection works, that many industrial enterprises, especially those chemical factories, discharge untreated waste gas and dump industrial wastes willfully, and directly discharge waste water to the rivers and lakes. This series of actions directly destroyed people’s living environment.
In addition, due to the government’s indifference to the environmental work, people’s environmental protection consciousness is weak, which leads to unhealthy lifestyles for many people, such as the large use of plastic bags that would producing toxic gas when burning, and are not easy to degrade, which could damage the soil; also many would like to use one-off chopsticks in restaurants for convenience, such behavior would consume large amount of woods, according to media, in China, people “eat” up to 25 million trees in restaurants each year.
We ask for the Chinese government to implement energy-saving plans, and to pay attention to the environmental protection, which allows no time to delay. Also, the government should adjust the structure of the industry, encouraging environmental friendly enterprises to develop; promoting democratic ideology; discouraging the use of plastic bags; recycling waste batteries; banning the use of disposable chopsticks. For the sake of human’s future, let’s take actions to protect the environment.
