Du, Ping: Urge Chinese Government to Pay Attention to Environmental Protection

Chinese government only emphasizes economic development, and neglects environmental protection, over years, the air, water, and natural environment in China have suffered damages, especially in economically developed areas, where the sky looks grey and the air smells pungent. Tap water in cities contains excessive amount of bleacher, and white trash can be seen everywhere.
We can always find media reports about food safety problem, the vegetables and fruits produced in some areas contain excessive pesticide, and the food contains excessive harmful materials etc. All these problems directly relate to environmental pollution.
As a rising economic giant, its environmental problems are so serious, that the government may takes the responsibility as the economy has grew, while environmental protection has been neglected. We appeal Chinese government to emphasize environmental protection, increasing the investment to environmental protection, enhancing environmental legislation, strictly practicing the law, making contributions to protect the environment.
