Cui, Yushun: Let’s Remember June 4th Event in 1989
崔玉顺(Cui,Yushun)
In the summer of 1989, Beijing, more than one million students and citizens took to the street, to hold demonstrations and rallies, during which they carried various banners, shouting slogans, to appeal the government to punish corruption, and to promote democratic political reform. However, in the early morning of June 4, communist government sent 200 thousand well-armed soldiers to suppress the world-famous democratic movement by forcible method.
For 23 years, ordinary Chinese people still living in poverty and backward, while government officials are getting rich, whose wealth is not gained by hard work and wisdom but by getting involved in corruption. Nowadays, wealth gap in Chinese society is large; the conflict between the people and the officials is sharp, which is caused by the corrupt communist party’s authoritarian system.
China’s democratic system could be achieved only by Chinese people’s endeavor and struggle. Let’s remember the June 4th event happened in 1989, we ask for probing the truth of the event, and urge Chinese government to stop persecuting, reforming politics, and to hand state power back to the people.
