Lu, Zenghui: Appeal for Chinese Government to Stop the Birth-Control Policy

Thirty years ago, Chinese government established “One Child” policy and implemented it in the nationwide. The policy aims at all the fertile women, regardless of their ethnic groups and ages, who meet the condition of birth-control policy to mandatorily obey the policy.
For many years, hundreds of millions of Chinese fertile women have suffered the violent law enforcement of forcible abortion, induction etc. The birth-control policy not only ruins Chinese women’s hope of having children, but also violates the rule of natural reproduction; also, it affects China’s sex ratio and ago structure, as well as violates ethics and morals. Chinese society is developing toward civilization, Chinese people can no longer accept the birth-control policy at the cost of damaging the physical and mental health of the women and infringing the basic human right of them.
Women delivering children is a basic natural law of reproduction, which cannot be included in government plans; the birth control policy does more harm than good, and would leave a troublesome legacy to for the future. As a Chinese woman, I appeal Chinese government to stop the birth-control policy.
