The problem of corruption in Chinese society is getting worse, from the various appearances of the phenomenon of official corruption, many factors involve in the corruption. Although differences of the problem of corruption exist among diverse areas and industries, there is one in common, which the uncontrolled power results in the corruption.
A large number of government officials have got involved in the corruption, and with the economic globalization, the corruption with Chinese characteristics is notorious. As China’s ruling party, the communist regime is gradually enhancing the power of anti-corruption each year, however, with little success. The real cause of corruption must be found out in order to severely punish it. Absolute power will definitely emerge due to the authoritarian system, and the absolute power will surely produce absolute corruption. Thus it can be seen that the fundamental reason for the serious corruption problem derives from the authoritarian system.
Today, for the Chinese government, the anti-corruption work should start from the prevention of the formation of the absolute power, for this reason, it must punish the corruption from the current system in order to prevent the absolute power from generating, and enhance the supervision and restriction of the power to eliminate corruption from the root, rather than suppressing the people from revealing the corruption problem by various methods.
