Zhang, Baoming: Chinese Army Must Get Out the Control of CPC

“The Party controls the gun” is a slogan raised by the communist regime to absolutely lead Chinese army, and the slogan was a product of the communist authoritarian regime. For over 6 decades, this slogan has enabled CPC to convert the Chinese army into its private force to executing political tasks as well as protecting its interests.
In China society, besides “The party controls the gun”, there is another violent slogan, which is “The state power comes from the barrel of the gun”: the tow slogans are basically the same, both of which are the fundamental reasons that are account for the crackdown to the people by the government and Chinese society’s unrest. Due to the prolonged brainwash of “Party culture” to Chinese soldiers by Chinese government, along with the settlement of the absolute obedience to CPC within the army, the army consistently follows the will of the Party, even to slaughter their compatriots like the June 4 event.
Amid the tendency of democratic freedom around the world, “The party controls the gun” had lost its function, and Chinese people recognize a fact that the Chinese army should no longer serves as the private force of the communist regime, so that the army must get out the control of CPC and to embrace the country and the people as a army belongs to the country.
