Tian, Bing: the Difference between American and Chinese Election
田兵(Tian,Bing)
The United States is a country with freedom and human rights, where every citizen has the right and obligation to vote. For example, in the US, every city councilor, mayor, legislators, governors, and even the congress and the president are selected by people by public voting. According to the number of votes, the mayor, governor, or the president is determined.
The United States president election is held every four years. Now, this year’s American presidential election has ended. President Obama is successfully re-elected by the public voting. With the valuable votes, American people put their hope on the President Obama for the next 4 years. President Obama has served US for 4 years. During the four years, global economic crisis and many natural disasters have hit America. But, with the trust and faith from American people, President Obama still gets re-elected. At the same time, President Obama has created the new history of the United States of America.
In China, although the economy of this country is in constant development, many things need to change and reform, such as political reform, election system, and morality and culture. These problems lag far behind the pace of other democratic countries. Because China is ruled by one-party dictatorship, people never have the right to vote. Although there are changes in people’s life, the social system of dictatorship never changed. Chinese government should push political reform as soon as possible, let people get involved in political system, in public election, and to develop a new government selected by people. This is the only way to society stability and prosperity for China.
