Zhai, qiwei: Chinese government should not ignore the problem of environmental pollution
翟启伟(Zhai,Qiwei)
According to recent reports, the air pollution in Beijing has become much worsen. The air is full of dust and toxic substances. The polluted air has become heavy smog enveloping the earth, which is too thick to see in the daytime. The heavy smog lasts days to weeks every year. This is the consequences of Chinese government’s polluting activities.
With the development of the economy, the Chinese government made vast area of land developed, destroyed wetland and vegetation continuously. There are lots of people moved into cities. A large scale of industrial production also produced many Carbon dioxide causing air pollution and climate warming. China has become one of the countries who have the lowest rates of energy utilization. A large amount of energy consumption has accelerated the rate of global warming and air pollution. The heavy smog has shown up in many areas of China.
We are asking the Chinese government to raise an attention on environmental protection, and to invest enough money to improve technologies to protect the environment. China should improve the rate of energy utilization with new and advanced energy technologies. China should make use of new, clean and alternative energy, such as wind power, solar energy, hydropower and other clean energy. A government should pay more attention on the environmental protection work other than economy development.
