Li, Shigang: How to improve Chinese human rights condition fundamentally

Chinese government officials have violated human rights for a long time because the government doesn’t even have the law to restrict those officials. Officials are hurting people’s human rights, and the government is not even ruled by law. In order to have more achievement in official’s term and to improve the urbanization, many local officials have violated human rights. With violence, they force people leave their home and force farmers leave their lands. The local officials do not even give those people reasonable compensation for losing houses or lands.
Chinese Constitution gives Chinese people many rights, including the human rights. Without the basic human rights, people would lose the basic protection to live, and no dignity. Many Chinese don’t know their human rights are protected by the Constitution, and also don’t know how to fight for the human rights.
To promote Chinese democratic political reform, people should be able to vote their government and officials. We should awaken people’s awareness of human rights gradually to build a democratic and free political system with legality, which is the only way to improve Chinese human rights condition fundamentally.
