Liu, Benyu: The Democratic System is suitable for Chinese Society

Democratic system has been accepted and used in most countries over the world. In democratic system, power can be limited, the media can play a supervisory role, and people have a right to know fully, governmental officials have to serve people without corruption. In democratic system, people are the master of the country. Democracy means people can vote to elect their government and officials; similarly, people can impeach the omission of government or incompetent officials. The biggest beneficiaries of democracy are the public people.
The social system in China is authoritarian, which is not selected by Chinese people, but forced by the Chinese Communist Party. The 60-year fact has proved that the biggest beneficiary of authoritarian in China is the CCP. The CCP’s dictatorship has lead to corruption, social unrest, and the autocracy also stopped Chinese people from pursuing democracy and freedom.
Democracy and freedom is a culture of peace, rationality and equity, which has been accept as the most reasonable system by the most countries of the world. Practices have proved that democracy can be used in Chinese society. Only in democratic system, China can have an elected government, and Chinese society can be stable and peaceful for long time. |
