Gan, Yujia: Strongly Request Chinese Government to abolish “One Child” Policy

Chinese government has implemented the “One Child” Policy for more than 30 years, when Chinese women were forced abortion, killing baby, and ligation. In China, after pregnancy, a woman doesn’t have the right to deliver a baby. She has to apply for delivery plan at local government. Pregnant woman is only able to deliver a baby only if the local government gives the “deliver permission”. Otherwise, the pregnant woman will face a forced abortion or ligation. Chinese government’s behavior has seriously violates the basic human rights of all Chinese women.
Women’s fertility is supposed to be a natural law, which is an important link of human reproduction and a normal phenomenon in the process of human development. Like other animals’ metabolism in the natural environment, pregnancy and delivery of human beings should be the basic human rights. Chinese “One Child” policy has destroyed the basic principles of human nature. Over the years, the “One Child” policy has seriously devastated the majority of Chinese women’s physical and mental health. The “One Child” Policy is a mistake hurting the country and people. Chinese government must stop the implementation of “One Child” policy immediately.
