Wang, Hong: The Chinese government must fight against corruption from the system
王虹(Wang,Hong)
Anti-corruption has become a serious problem for Chinese government. Although the government is determined to fight against corruption, the Chinese-characteristics phenomenon has become widely influential, and seriously dangerous. The majority of Chinese people are very angry with the serious corruption. Facing such serious problem of corruption, the Chinese government also has the determination to against corruption.
Thirty years ago, Chinese government put forward the economic reform, to allow some people get rich first. The intention was positive. However, some government officials made use of the defect of the system, asked for bribes by government power, and got profit from power-money exchange. Then the corruption happened, developed very fast, and the situation became worse and worse. To peace the public anger and keep the promise, the Chinese government has to punish corrupt officials. The purpose of taking some corrupt officials down is to release the conflict between the government and Chinese people.
In recent years, the Chinese government is still using loud anti-corruption slogans on TV, newspapers, and other media. However, the government doesn’t allow the public get involved in the anti-corruption activities. The governmental anti-corruption authority is the only force to check corrupt officials, which is the reason why there is no substantial achievement on anti-corruption activities. The government officials made the majority of Chinese corruption. As a result, anti-corruption activities need fairness, justice, democracy, and legal system as the strong backing. This is the only way to solve corruption problem in China.
