Wei, Chunfa: Hoping the Chinese Government will Make Contribution to Environmental Protection

China is a big economic country among developing countries. But the environmental protection has become a weak link, and the environmental pollution problem really makes people worried. During the decades of China’s reform and opening up, the economy has developed, output has raised, and efficiency has improved, but they ignored the issue of environmental protection. In China, no matter in city or in country, and no matter under what kind of weather, there are excessive amounts of dust in the air, and atmospheric transparency level is not good, some air are even stink; there is strong bleach smell in drinking water; pesticide residue content in some local food are not qualified to health standard.
People can see trash everywhere in their living environment; the annual dust storm would cover more than half China. For example, in northern China, people could see dust fall down like rain. All these means that China’s environmental is deteriorating.
The main reason of China’s serious environmental pollution is government’s ineffective protection, such as policy failures and inadequate measures. If letting this serious problem spread down, it will be a threat to the whole planet. We call on the Chinese government to pay attention on the work of legislation and enforcement in environmental protection, increase the amount of environmental capital investment, and make contribution to protect the environment.
