Wang, Qi: What the Chinese Society Needs Most is Moral Civilization
王琪(Wang,Qi)
The Chinese Communist government official is a major part in social demoralization groups. The government officials, from top to bottom, are all involved in corruption and abusing of power. Every day, there are places expose corrupted government officials. The demoralization level is even hard to believe. Not only that, many people are trying to imitate government officials, resulting in the lack of ethics in economic construction. Some people discharge untreated wastewater directly into rivers; some people add prohibited additives in the drink; some people put expired food back to the supermarket; some doctors prescribe prescription of ineffective drugs. In order to make profits, these people leave moral civilization behind totally.
China's authoritarian system fundamentally hinders the development of moral civilization. The immoral phenomenon of Chinese society are spreading, not only just government officials, some common people are also assimilated. People can always see such images in China: the sick, the elderly, and pregnant women are standing in the city bus, nobody is willing to give up his or her seat; people does not line up before the car and push each other to get a seat. This is an immoral issue.
Moral civilization is the base to maintain normal social order in a country, and it is also the soul to build a fair and just society. I am calling the Chinese government to fully promote moral civilization, hoping the government can obey the law while using their power and China can move toward the direction of moral civilization development.
