Fan Shuying: The Anti-corruption in China must Rely on a Reasonable System

The Communist government has ruled China for as long as over 60 years, and they implement the one-party autocracy all the time. Government officials’ power is lack of legal constraints and supervision which is the reason of corruption. The corruption problem has never stopped. The person who are involved in corruption are not only government officials, but also directors and managers in enterprises and institutions; whoever has power would have the chance to participate in corruption.
There are reports about corrupted government officials in the Chinese Media. The money amount involved was from hundreds of thousands, millions, to tens of millions, even several hundred million dollars; after seeing so many corrupted problems, people does not feel new any more. The Chinese people know a simple fact that corruption burdens people’s life and brings disaster to the society.
The Chinese government has to severely punish the corruption problem. Many corrupted government officials are under the government’s protection, which leaves no restriction to government officials, and make the whole society lose its bottom line of civilization. There would be no substantive effect if people only rely on the anti-corruption terms and anti-corruption agencies. The root resource is the unreasonable political system. Without the political system reform, these surface works cannot really solve the problem. The political system should be reformed, and China should implement a multi-party democratic constitutional system, then the power can be monitored and corrupted cases can be diminished.
