Fan, Shuying: My Experience of Delivering China Democracy Journal in New York

Delivering China Democracy Journal to let more people understand and pay attention to China’s democratic movement, It is one of the most unforgettable things happened to me since I joined China Democracy Party. Since December 2010, I started to deliverer China Democracy Journal in the subway entrance and in front of library in Flushing. I would deliverer every morning and afternoon, six days a week, despite the weather. Our newspaper reported China Democracy Party’s activities and democratic articles; it has both Chinese and English.
Every morning during the rush hours, I would stand in the subway entrance to deliverer China Democracy Journal; and in the afternoon, I would push the car from China Democracy Party office to the library, and placed it next to the library; I would also tell the people who are interested in it about the newspaper and democratic idea. During the process, I encountered some unfriendly people. They scolded me, took picture of me, and even stole my bag with newspapers inside. I would hang banners of China Democracy Party on the tree next to newspapers, but police would come to negotiate especially in windy days. Since they do not like the banner on tree, I would always try my best to put it on the sticks I brought.
I am a mother, having an artist son. Though I am suffering from lumbar disc hernia, I still insist on delivering China Democracy journal for China’s democratic movement overseas. My son understands it well and always helps me with it.
