Chen, Ye: My Feeling of Attending China Democratic Movement Overseas

I joined the China Democracy Party in New York on October 5, 2010. October 26,2010 was my first time attended democratic movement, and since then, I am actively participate in all the rallies held in front of the Chinese Consulate General in New York and in varies places in Washington D.C. I also go to China Democracy Party office to learn democratic theories, publish articles in China Democracy Party website, and deliver China Democracy Journal in the entrance of flushing subway.
My strongest feeling living in New York is very tired. But life still goes on. The reason I joined China Democracy party is hoping China can achieve democracy. China is a country of great history and civilization, and it stands up after countless wars, the developing process is unforgettable. I love my country. All the democratic movements I participated are on the basis of peace and non-violence, hoping to promote democracy within the degree of not harming the country and people’s emotion, hoping the Chinese government can change the one-party authoritarian stance. The government should implement democracy, respect human rights, treat China democrats and their families rationally, and can accept varies political views.
During my time of participating rallies, I have seen people with different actions, some with good manner, some are terrible. Some people cannot understand that Chinese people stand on the cold windy street shouting slogans. We just want to tell people that we love our country; we want more people to pay attention on the social issues and human rights issue in China; we hope China can have democracy as soon as possible.
