Feng, Qiang: Chinese People cannot Tolerate Education Corruption
冯强(Feng,Qiang)
The mission of human education is to spread science and civilization. It is necessary to put improving country’s competitiveness, future economy development and people’s cultural quality as prerequisites while developing a country’s healthy education. However, the Chinese government just takes education as an industry. The education department is no longer a purely administrative institutions, the government puts education and economy together. And everything is directly linked to economic interests, which leads to serious corruption in China’s education.
Let us take a close look at the education corruption in China: the officials in education department divert the limited education funds for their own purposes; many teachers are involved in corruption because of money; fake academic achievements are everywhere; school and government officials work together to defraud the education and research funds.
In many schools in China, especially in primary and secondary schools, the so-called teachers are no longer serving as a role model. They are trying every mean to take education funds; some teachers also colluded with the person in charge of the school to get money with all kinds of excuses, like material fees, individual counseling fees and so on. For ordinary Chinese people, education corruption makes poor students’ situation even worse.
If the Chinese government does not punish education corruption, it would show the government’s incompetence and the country’s disgrace. Chinese people hope that the education department is a clean place; hope teachers can do their best to fulfill their duties. Only by developing education, can the country and nation have a good future.
