Xu, Xiuyong: The Environmental Pollution Problem in China Really Makes People Worried

In recent years, many problems are threatening human being’s living environment. For examples, the global warming climate, the lack of energy, the intensified air pollution level, the expanded population, and species extinction. China is world＇s largest economy country among all the developing countries. Environmental pollution has been a long concern for all the countries in the world. The country’s economy has developed; the environmental pollution problem has worried people more and more. The worst thing is that the Chinese government does not pay enough attention on environmental pollution control.
China＇s energy consumption is mainly dominated by coal, with the increase of coal consumption, carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions have risen dramatically. The area of acid rain caused by sulfur dioxide emissions is expanding all the time, which results in the direct damage of grain, vegetables and fruits, reducing forest area and green land, and the degradation of wetlands. Air pollution would cause respiratory disease, resulting the increasing of mortality rate. The most terrible environmental crisis the Chinese government is facing now is water pollution and water shortage.
The Chinese government ignored the protection of the environment while developing economy. The area is under the huge impact of environmental pollution. So we call on the Chinese government to increase law enforcement and supervision of environmental pollution from the source of environmental pollution; the government has to let the industries reduce waste gas, waste water and solid waste emissions, increase people’s awareness of environmental protection, then jointly create a healthy environment.
