Zhao Hongzhen: China Needs to Learn the Electoral System from America
赵鸿桢(Zhao,Hongzhen)
Every four years, there is a presidential election in America. In November this year, the presidential election was over, and President Obama has been re-elected as the President of the United States. His re-election is decided by people’s votes.
During Obama’s last presidency, the whole world was in economic downturn, and the United States had suffered a number of natural disasters. President Obama’s reelection is tightly related with American citizens’ trust. Chinese people should learn from America’s election. America’s president is elected by Americans, then when can China’s president be elected by its people?
In today’s China, though the economy is growing, there is no reform in politics, there is no electoral system, and there is lack of morality and civilization. Especially in elections, Chinese people have no right to participate in the election of the country’s President. We call on the Chinese government to learn America’s electoral system, carry out political reforms, and fulfill the vote right the Constitution has given to citizens. We want all the Chinese people can be involved in politics, can have the right to vote, and China can establish a truly democratically elected government.
