Gan, Ping: We should never Forget June 4th Incident
干萍(Gan,Ping)
23 years ago on June 4, in order to safeguard their dominance, the Chinese Communist dictatorship moved into Tiananmen Square in Beijing with armed troops, tanks, and guns. They shoot many students and citizens who asked the government to “punish corruption, and promoting political reform” to death in the rally. Many people died under Chinese military’s guns.
Although it has passed over twenty years, Chinese people have not forgotten the June 4th event. Today, people use various ways to commemorate those who fight courageously for their dreams. For a better future in China, some people has lost their lives, some people have lost their arms and legs. In Chinese people’s eyes, they are great heroes. Their names would be written in the history.
Though June 4th democratic movement has been suppressed, Chinese people’s step in pursuing democracy would not stop. Though they would experience setbacks, difficulties, get injured, and even lose their lives; the Chinese people would never give up, and would continue pursuing democracy and freedom. A constitutional country with several parties in turn to rule would be achieved.
