Dong, Lianchi: Commemorating the 23rd Anniversary of June 4th Event

The 23rd anniversary of June 4th event is around the corner. People would never forget that 23 years ago, the Chinese government used the armed force to deal with this democracy movement. Tanks and armored vehicles entered Beijing, entered Tiananmen Square. The government uses violence to suppress the patriotic students and other people advocating anti-profiteering and anti-corruption.
23 years has passed, the Chinese government is still emphasizing the maintenance of social stability. However, the so-called maintenance fee has exceeded the army＇s military spending, indicating Chinese Communist government’s concern on people! Today’s situation is that the more stable the government try to maintain, the more unstable the society become. The highly pressure measure the government is doing is just a “false stability." We commemorate the June 4th event in 1989, which also means we are calling the Chinese government to carry out a real reform, creating a truly stable situation.
Over the twenty years after the June 4th event, China’s political reform stalled. The Chinese Communist government has absolute power, which leads to absolute corruption. The confliction between government officials and public people is intensifying. We all believe the Chinese government has to re-recognize June 4th event, punish the massacre perpetrators that is behind, apologize to all the people, and carry out democratic reforms, in order to adapt to the time change.
