Peng, Shukun: People must Create an Environment of Moral Civilization in China

Morality and civilization is a social product of human society. It is a standard or tool for people to adjust their behaviors according to the opinion and judgment from other people and the whole society. Therefore, the existence of a society is the presuppose of the existence of moral civilization.
An important reason of China＇s current social situation of moral turpitude is that the social system is flawed. Many people do not have trust on their government, and has a sense of alienation and exclusion mentality to the society. In some people＇s eyes, everything is for themselves, and they have nothing to do with other things. Even the so-called social elite, or official dignitaries, most of them are lack of the awareness and moral responsibility to create a better and civilized society.
Therefore, the promotion of China＇s democratic political reform is an indispensable part in China’s reestablishment in moral civilization. Chinese government must create the conditions for the moral civilization. The most fundamental way is to improve their own conditions, to improve the political environment, and to achieve democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law. Only in a good political environment, can the seeds of moral civilization survive and grow up.
