Wang, Qingkai: Call Upon Chinese Government to Open up Freedom of Speeches
王庆凯(Wang,Qingkai)
The Chinese government did not give people the right of speeches they deserve. In the current Chinese society, ordinary Chinese people cannot talk the country's history, cannot talk about the country's future, not even mentioning about the corrupted social system. All they can do is to praise the government. Chinese people cannot freely express their ideas. They cannot make any comment on the government’s and its corrupt officials’ actions; all they can do is to follow other people’s good words.
The Chinese government authorities know that once people have freedom of speeches, its one-party dictatorship would be threatened. So the Chinese government uses many people, materials and financial resources to control the news media and the Internet, and uses all means to restrict people's freedom of speeches. However in a society with high technology and better morality, it is impossible for the Chinese government to totally control people’s freedom of speeches. Freedom and democracy is Chinese people’s eternal pursuit. It is unreasonable to stop Chinese people express their views.
Although there is provision in the Chinese Constitution stating Chinese people have the right of freedom of speeches, this provision just remains on paper. Facts have proved that Chinese government’s restriction on people’s freedom of speeches is completely contrary to the concept of democracy and freedom. Freedom of speeches is among the scope fundamental human rights, the government cannot arbitrarily trample upon. Everyone has the right of freedom of speeches, and everyone needs this rights. Therefore, we call upon the Chinese government to fully open the freedom of speeches.
