Zhang, Hongqing: Let the Chinese Government become an Elected Government
张洪庆(Zhang,Hongqing)
On November 6, 2012, the U.S. presidential election came to an end. And Obama defeated Romney and was successfully re-elected as the 44th president in America. Since then, in his inaugural speech Obama also mentioned the U.S. should help the world with its common prosperity.
Before the U.S. presidential election, the majority of voters are very enthusiastic. Since that their vote is not for any particular candidate, whether he is Barack Obama or John McCain, the most important thing is that their vote is for their own better future, they vote for a free and democratic system and a better life order. This vote is the right given by country's constitution.
China is a country with just one long-ruling party, and the government is an authoritarian government. The government officials have the power which is not restricted by the law. It is not the election from people that give government officials their titles, it is from high officials. They are indifferent in the public’s interest; all they need to do is to be responsible to higher officials.
The U.S. government is elected through people's election. All the government officials including the president are elected by America citizens. Government officials represent the interests of the majority voters, so they must maintain the interests of voters all the time. We want China to be inspired from the United States presidential election, and implement real election as soon as possible, so that the Chinese government can become a democratically elected government.
