Zhang, Junwang: Achieving Democracy and Rule of Law is Conducive to Anti-corruption
张俊旺(Zhang,Junwang)
Over the years, China has already become a world famous corrupt country. As the ruling party, Chinese Communist Party has realized that if we do not control corruption, the government will face collapse. At the present, China has put anti-corruption as government’s big thing. Government in every level takes appropriate anti-corruption measures, and establishes many anti-corruption agencies.
However, the corruption phenomenon in Chinese society has not been effectively controlled. The number of corrupt people, representing as government officials, is increasing, and the phenomenon is becoming more serious. Although the government tries to control government officials, and officials become younger and younger, corruption does not become better, it even become worse. Some young officials are even greedier and corrupt than old government officials.
There is a common characteristic in Chinese corrupt officials, they spend taxpayer’s money in eating, playing. Though the Chinese government has introduced some new anti-corruption measures, establish new rules, and suppress corruption, the corruption phenomenon become more and more serious. The main reason is that Chinese society does not have democracy, and rule of law. Only by changing the autocratic system in China, and achieving democracy and rule of law, can anti-corruption be successful.
