Zhang, Junwang: Chinese Government must Strengthen Environmental Protection Efforts

People all can see that China’s economy has developed; and people can also see that China’s environment has become worse and worse. China’s economic reform and opening up has created a highly efficient development in economy, but weakened the environmental protection efforts, leading China to the world’s most polluted area.
Environmental pollution does not only destroy the nature and ecological balance, it also directly affects human being’s normal living conditions. Since air, water resource, and climate is the resources shared by all the human beings in the earth. Therefore, population influenced by the environment is regardless of the area, and regardless of the country’s social system.
Chinese government has to improve the economy, and also has to pay attention to environmental protection. The government does not only have to lead people walk toward prosperity, but also has to leave a good environment to people, and leave clean land and pure water to our future generations. Chinese government which is economically developed and populous must be a government which is responsible to the environment.
