Migrant workers in China need security on work, this is one thing they are dreaming about.
Because the labor law and social security law in China cannot be implemented, many migrant workers’ basic life cannot be guaranteed. Though many employers have signed labor contracts with migrant workers, this is just a useless paper. When it’s the time to fulfill the contract, the employer would not admit it, and not follow the labor law and social security law in China. So it is the migrant worker who is in the disadvantage side.
My coworker Wang, Xiaoping lost his income due to work injury. According to the labor contract, he should receive at least 300 RMB for his living expense every month. However, his employer broke the contract, and Wang, Xiaoping did not get a penny. I supported Wang, Xiaoping to fight for his right, and was brutally retreated by the security and manager. This is really inhumane, and there is no law at all.
The reason of labor law and social security law’s ineffectiveness is Chinese Communist party’s one-party dictatorship. Power is greater than law, and relationship is greater than law. Without the independency of judiciary in China, laws can hardly work.
In order to let migrant workers have security on work, it is necessary to end Chinese Communist Party’s one-party dictatorship and establish an independent judiciary.
