China is now the number of smokers up to as much as three hundred million, even more than the US population, and the number is still rising trend, the next five years, China will add one million smokers, about seven hundred million in addition to the non-smoking those suffering from secondhand smoke.
Now, every year more than one million Chinese people die of diseases caused by smoking, but in the past decade, the number of Chinese suffering from lung cancer has increased fivefold.
In fact, according to the experience of other countries, the CCP can take many measures to reduce smoking, for example, strictly prohibit the sale of cigarettes to minors, prohibiting government officials, doctors, teachers in government schools and so on smoking in hospitals, as well as a substantial increase in retail tobacco taxes, etc., so can effectively reduce the number of smokers, to save the lives of millions of Chinese people, to save the national health care expenditure.
However, the Chinese authorities are still indifferent, and what actions are not done smoking.
This is because the tobacco industry has always been a big pay taxes to the Chinese government, the tax year up to nearly one trillion yuan, accounting for about a quarter of the treasury of the total annual income, the proportion of income taxation of tobacco-growing areas even up to five percent ten.
Faced with such a huge profit, the Chinese authorities mercenary, smoking has been reluctant to make a determined effort, which is totally ignored the Chinese people's lives.
