Chen, Yuyi: democracy is to protect the rights of all citizens
陈彧屹(Chen, Yuyi)
People talk about the Democratic Party is prohibited, even distort the essence of democracy. For example: the CCP often say mantra, called the minority to the majority. Absolutely ignoring the rights of individuals.
Party for various reasons do one-party dictatorship, not to engage in democracy, party officials and groups, privileged, random plundering resources of the country and the people, for their own pleasure! But the people have no freedom and rights, despite the CCP's play.
Any form of democracy, all citizens to make political decisions based on majority rule freely, without exception.
However, majority rule is not democracy. For example, to allow 51 percent of the population in the name of the oppressed majority of the remaining 49 percent system, no one will call it fair and reasonable system.
In a democratic society, majority rule must be the same to ensure the human rights of individuals combined, this is done to protect the interests of the minority. Here, the small number of people, including racial, religious, and political aspects of the minority of people, and even include in the debate on the controversial legislation conducted in people who fail. Minority rights does not depend on the good will of the majority, it can not be stifled by a majority vote. The reason why the rights of minorities are protected because democratic laws and institutions protect the rights of all citizens.
China needs a democratic system as soon as possible.
